Mission
Some of the Persians American Society of Tampa Bay specific goals are:
To share the joy of Persian culture and preserve it for next generations.
Elevating Persian American knowledge of Iran's rich history, traditions and customs.
Elevating the status of Iranians within the local community and working toward
eliminating the stereotyping of Iranians.
Providing culturally oriented programs such as Shabeh Sher, promoting traditional
poetry and literature.
Providing educational programs such as Farsi classes for anyone who is interested.
Establishing funds to help those temporarily in need of and scholarship for students
with Iranian heritage.
Providing popular programs by inviting artists, musicians, comedians, speakers and
other performers.
Observing traditional events such as Eideh Norooz (New Year), Seezdeh Bedar (National
Picnic Day), Jashneh Mehregan (Fall Festival), Shabeh Yalda (Winter Solstice and Birth
of Sun Celebration), Graduation / Dedication Ceremony.
Stablishing a directory of Iranian owend businesses and entrepreneurs in the area that
will provide an easy and quick access to various professions and services available.
Our community has been blessed with abundance of gifted and talented people in various
professions and businesses. In our attempt to better serve anyone, we would like to tap
into this bountiful treasure.
